Index of Training Camps

The week starts with Sunday dinner and goes through Friday dinner. There is also a $25-$75 Sunday airport/bus/train pickup fee and a $25-$175 for dropping off depending on driving distance and how long you stay during the weekend. Tuition for Summer 2012 is $680 if you register by June 5 , and $695 thereafter. Cumulative discounts of $20 are given per additional family member, and $20 cumulative discounts for additional camp weeks, and $20 off for referring any new friend/family who completes registration. $175 per week per participant deposit is required to hold your spot. June 17-22, 2012:
Teaching Nature - Professional Training for Environmental Educators, Outdoor Leaders, Naturalist Mentors & Conservation Guides: Intensive Earth Skills Overview, Precise Risk Management, Distinct Teaching to Each Age Group, Natural Lesson Planning, and Class Practicum

July 1-6, 2012:
Instructor Training for Outdoor Leaders: Group Facilitation, Navigation & Orienteering, Wilderness First Aid Review, Open Water Lifeguarding & CPR, and Trip Guiding Practicum (with prerequisite)
July 9-1, 2012:
Wolves & Wildlife Trackers Training
(no prerquisite)

July 22-27, 2012:
Wilderness Survival Training & Trek (no prerequisite)
July 31 - August 5, 2012:
Wild Ethnobotany & Herbalism Training (no prerequisite)

August 12-17, 2012:
The Earth Skills Artisan - Traditional Technologies Training (no prerequisite)
August 19-24, 2012:
Family Farm Camp (no prerequisite)
Family Fishing Camp

September 2-7, 2012:
Honarable Hunting Camp (with prerequisites)
September 9-14, 2012:
North Cascades Spirit Trek (for apprentices)

Academic Year Training Camps

November 20-25, 2012: Thanksgiving Break
Mississipi Delta & Gulf Coast Ecology in and around New Orleans, LA with airport transportation, bed and breakfast accommodations, and volunteer restoration work arranged.

December 26-31, 2012: New Years Break
Winter with the Wolves in Clam Lake, WI with transportation from Minneapolis / St Paul (MN) Int'l Airport and Eau Claire (WI) Bus Terminal.

February 17-22, 2013: President's Week
Mojave Desert Tracking, Birding, Plants & Survival near Barstow, CA with transportation from Seattle, Portland, Eugene, Medford, Redding, Sacramento, Modesto, Bakersfield, and Los Angeles - Ontario Airport.

March 24-29, 2013: College Spring Break
Birds & Buds of Dunes & Canyons in Washinton State with transportation from the Seattle area.

Summer Residential Teaching Apprenticeships

1. The Outdoor Leadership & Nature Guides Training features an Earth Skills Instructor Certification.
2. The Herba Medicine & Ethnobotany Teachers Training featuring an Ethnobotany/Herbalist Instructor Certification.
3. The Wildlife Conservation & Tracking Instructors Training feaures a Wildlife Tracking Instructor Certification.
4. The Traditional Technology & Survival Instructors Training features a Traditional Technologies Instructor Certification.
5. The Youth Mentoring CIT Program featuring a Naturalist Mentoring Certification option, is open to ages 13-17.

Academic Year Earth Skills Apprenticeships

1. The Part-Time Semester of Ethno-Botany & Herbal Conservation features an Ethnobotany Specialist Certification.
2. The Part-Time Semester of Ethno-Zoology & Wildlife Conservation features a Wildlife Ecology Specialist Certification.
3. The Full-Time Semester of Ethno-Ecology & Habitat Conservation features an Earth Skills Specialist Certification.
4. The Full-Time Semester of Outdoor Living & Wilderness Conservation features a Traditional Technologies Specialist Certification and begins at the end of the summer upon completion of any of our Summertime Residential Teaching Apprenticeships.
5. The Full-Time Semester of Traditional Living & Cultural Conservation features Stone Age Skills Specialist Certification, and begins upon completion of Outdoor Living & Wilderness Conservation.
