MARCH 24, 2012 - WILDERNESS SURVIVAL including FIRE BY FRICTION & BURN BOWLS at Cabela's near Olympia. Imagine after one day of training, you could become well versed on survival and the wild plants you absolutely need to know, plus become the best expert on fire in your circle. Who do you know that can light a campfire in the cold, using all-natural materials from a wet environment? Maybe a couple people. Who can start a fire without a lighter, matches, or anything from the store? By the end of the day, the answer will probably be you!

MAY 5, 2012 - CHORUS OF THE BIRDS from 5-8 AM by donation at the Wolf Campus in Puyallup WA. Learn to quickly identify birds by sight and sound, and make recordings as well; run tests on "bird language" which you can read about in advance of class by clicking on Wolf Journey Chapter 8 - Bird Communications. For instance, you will discover when birds give certain alarm calls, and when are they just chatting with one another.

MAY 19, 2012 - Wild Edible SEAWEEDS, SHELLFISH & SHORE PLANTS of the Salish Sea at Deception Pass State Park - Rosario Point & Cornet Bay near Anacortes, WA. Did you know that all seaweeds at our latitute are edible, that some seaweeds are thicken our foods (including Guiness beer) and that others are the source of great medicine? Join us today as we eat "green" seaweeds raw, dry "brown" seaweeds for future electrolyte replenishment, and gather "red" seaweeds to make nori rolls for lunch. Finally, we'll learn the bivalves and other shellfish below the tidelines and make a delectible clam chowder!

OCTOBER 6 , 2012 - WEAVING WILLOW, NETTLES & CATTAIL near Monroe, WA. Weave a willow basket and a cattail mat, plus make rope from stinging nettle, one of the Top 10 Most Important Plants, our strongest local native dry plant fiber for making rope, fish nets, and clothing. Process these plants into some of the best winter tonics to keep you healthy, and whip up tasty gourmet dishes today as well.

JANUARY 12, 2013 - HIDE TANNING & PARFLECHE at the Wolf Campus in Puyallup, WA. Have you ever wondered how ancient peoples made beautiful leather, or how they utilized animal hides for a plethora of uses? Take deer and elk hides that were harvested during the fall hunt, and honor them by making parfleche, a drum, and other rawhide tools, then follow an ancient recipe to convert at least one of the hides into tanned buckskin leather.
